Before pastoring in Marshall, Missouri, Terry pastored in Tallmadge, Ohio for thirteen years. Terry is a 1984 graduate of Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Schmelzenbachs have three daughters, Mandy, who is married to Billy, Jamie, who is married to Jeff, and Kelsi.
Children and Education Coordinator
Judy began work as our Children’s and Education Coordinator in June 2008. She spent 12 years prior to this time working as an aid at St. Mary’s Catholic School. Judy and her husband, Leonard, have two daughters and are grandparents to two busy young boys. Judy is excited to be working with the children at MFC and their parents.
Teen Ministries Coordinator
Mindy officially began her work as Teen Ministries Coordinator on Dec. 8, 2013 and has plans and dreams for helping the youth in our church grow as Christians while they develop friendships that will offer support and encouragement. Mindy, her husband, Todd, and their three children are active members at MFC.
Mary Ellen Van Camp
Mary Ellen accepted the position of Office Manager in December 1999. She is an active member of MFC. She married her husband, Bob, in 1980, and they are the proud parents of Bethany, who is married to Ben Richetti, and Will.
Maintenance and Janitorial
Bill Hockenberry is our janitor, handyman, and all around fix-it guy. After working at Kardex for 37 years, Bill retired only to find he was happier working. Much to our delight, he came to MFC in October of 2010 and has been part of our staff and family since then. We are hoping he never retires again! Bill is married to Bonnie and the have one son and one granddaughter. (You might also see Bill at McClure Shaffer Langford Funeral Home where he also works part-time. If you do, be sure to say hi!)
Staff with Phineas F. Bresee
Primary founder of the Church of the Nazarene
Back in 1895, Dr. Phineas F. Bresee began the work of the Church of the Nazarene. He had only a hundred or so faithful supporters to start with. During the 20 years that followed, he led that church to become a denomination of nearly 32,000 members. It extended over the North American continent and across to the British Isles. It had 800 local churches, a publishing house, several colleges, and scores of missionaries in foreign countries.
Many years have passed since Dr. Bresee’s death. Thousands have gone to meet him “inside the Eastern Gate”. But still his influence lives on.
